C114讯北京时间6月30日消息（艾斯）据外媒报道，本周一，谷歌宣布正式加入O-RAN联盟，这是该公司在5G和电信领域整体战略的一部分。谷歌表示，加入O-RAN联盟将使其能够“共同推动和加速”RAN产业的发展。

通过加入这一主要由电信运营商推动成立的组织，谷歌打算为行业中的相关标准和创新做出贡献。

“我们认为，针对RAN的全行业开放参考架构和接口，是推动通信服务提供商（CSP）移动网络创新的关键——O-RAN联盟推动了RAN层的重大发展，并已获得了许多大型CSP（这些CSP已成为该标准的早期采用者）的支持。O-RAN规范还将为增强网络安全创造条件，并通过更快的创新来实现更具竞争力和充满活力的RAN供应商生态系统，从而改善用户体验，并解锁新的CSP运营模式。”谷歌在一篇博客文章中写道。

具体而言，谷歌在O-RAN方面将致力于软件、5G、混合和多云环境以及基于网络的AI技术的研究和探索。

“我们对未来的发展感到兴奋，并期待与联盟成员合作，帮助推动O-RAN的雄心从愿景变为现实。”谷歌表示。

谷歌于2020年3月发布了其全球移动边缘云（GMEC）战略。Google Cloud现在专注于三个领域：5G网络的变现——特别是在业务服务和解决方案方面，数据驱动的客户体验，以及提高关键电信系统的运营效率。

“其中许多为业务转型提供了重要的机会，这就是为什么我们很高兴与领先的电信、合作伙伴和客户合作，共同推动行业转型，为全球用户创造更好的整体体验。”Google Cloud首席执行官Thomas Kurian当时表示。
