›The locating algorithm serves the purpose of providing a list of possible cell candidates, in descending ranking order, for handover.

There are two different basic algorithms to choose between, Ericsson 1 and Ericsson 3.
Ericsson 1 :either pathloss or signal strength or both
Ericsson 3
