Part 1: summary

CA concept: It's a Most distinct feature of LTE-A. Two or more component carriers (CCs) are aggregated in order to support wider transmission bandwidths up to 100MHz to provide more peak rate data and high average thought put per cell.

CA defined 5 deployment scenarios;

Pcell definition: Before R2-69#, every component carrier has the equal relationship with very limited progress on each meeting. After R2-69#, PCC concept is agreed to facilitate the following rel-10 progress

CA UP structure: 1 to 1 mapping between HARQ entity and CC. Re-Tx is also mapped to the same CC. CA character is only exposed to the MAC to simplify the user plane enhancement mainly on MAC.
