DECEMBER 8, 2009 -- Opnext and JDSU have announced their participation inthe successful operation of IEEE-compliant 100-Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE)optics, which they say further validates the feasibility of pluggable opticsfor 100GbE. The demonstration included transmitting and receivingEthernet traffic at 100GbE through an Opnext 100GBase-LR4 CFP multisourceagreement (CFP MSA)-compliant optical module using the JDSU OpticalNetwork Test instrument (ONT) with 100GbE module.
Opnext 之前曾演示了CFP MSA模块支持PRBS测试模式。Opnext has previouslydemonstrated CFP MSA modules carrying pseudo-random bit stream (PRBS) testpatterns. This was the first demonstration of 100GbE IP packets beingsuccessfully transmitted and received over a 100GBase-LR4 interface. Testing was conducted continuously for over 40 hours without errors.

JDSU says its 100GbE testers are gaining widespread acceptance by networkequipment, component, and subassembly manufacturers and service providersin North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacificregion.

The JDSU 100GbE test suite evaluates and verifies components, subassemblies,and network equipment and is developed to help service providers ensurereliable performance on new network builds.
The Opnext TRC5E20ENF CFP module is designed to support the 100GBase-LR4interface in the IEEE Draft 100-Gigabit Ethernet standard. This CFP MSA moduleis sampling and available to customers.(FromLightWave)
